Something a little bit special…
This is the most refreshing eatery I’ve found in the area: fresh and delicious food, locally sourced and served with a smile. The courtyard setting is effortlessly stylish with its large orange parasols, relaxed cow shed and hay barn. Excellent value for money and child-friendly. Sits independently of the Hoveton Hall estate so don’t go thinking that you need to pay fees to get in – you don’t! A must for anyone on holiday or locals looking for something special. It’s even lovely in the rain!

The food was fantastic we tried lots of different mains and shared. The starter we had was cured meats, bread, olives, delish! The service was fantastic, so welcoming and chatty, even to the point of bringing a patio heater over to us in case we were cold. The food is amazing along with the selection of wine and ales. Thank you to Alex and his team for an amazing night, we will be back and also to big Steve for fabulous music, I recommend this hidden gem….. Don’t tell toomany people though!!

A Perfect Evening!
We’ve eaten lunch here before (summer 2018) and this was our first evening visit for tapas and live music on a Friday night.
We had a fabulous greeting from the front of house team and had a choice of tables. Service was very attentive, friendly but not over the top. Great wine and food choices, we couldn’t fault it. We loved the tapas style menu for a relaxed “date night” rather than a formal full menu. All served at a great pace, totally delicious…. especially the rhubarb crumble!
Great live music, suitably chilled and unobtrusive for a small space.
Thanks to Alex and team for a lovely evening, we are now gathering our friends to revisit en-masse very soon

A hidden gem – we should keep it quiet but want more to enjoy…
We live so close to the Garden Kitchen Cafe and have visited many times and thought it time to write another review. First of all, the staff – so accommodating to any particular taste/diet and always so friendly and cheery. Secondly the food is always freshly cooked, as local as possible and just simply great food. They stick to a small menu but there is always plenty of choice for all tastes. Good selection of wines and soft drinks and all very reasonably priced. Excellent meal tonight – two starters, mains and two rounds of drinks for £40. The pea and mint soup was a delight.

We visited here for a Father’s Day brunch on recommendation from friends. It did not disappoint. My husband commented the sausages were possibly the best he’d tasted (& he knows his sausages!) I had the Mexican flatbread, absolutely delicious. Lovely surroundings and staff were so friendly and helpful.

We came here as a family of four (with two small children) on Mothering Sunday for lunch before visiting the gardens at Hoveton Hall. Despite the fact we hadn’t booked and the cafe being extremely busy the food was excellent, and we didn’t have much of a wait – quite a feat for a small kitchen! It was the first time we had eaten here and although we don’t live particularly locally, we will definitely be returning for the food alone! The gardens are lovely, but the Garden Kitchen is the real star here. It’s also worth saying that the whole place has been done beautifully too. Well worth the hour’s drive across Norfolk! Well done to all the hard-working Garden Kitchen team, we’ll see you again!
